RIP Hits the Book Market...
With a Big Slam!
1. | RIP Official Press Release
By Genevieve Wilson of Apex Reviews
The debut collection of poetry by Juanita Harris, "RIP-Rejection, Inspiration, & Peace" is a hauntingly beautiful portrayal of a survivor's spirit, having overcome illness, abuse, and heartbreak, yet still maintaining a tender, untainted sensibility. Pieces such as "November Thirteenth" and "Mommy" rip at the heart strings with their unflinching takes on the harsh realities of life. Moreover, "There was a Girl" will serve as a strikingly powerful reminder to anyone that has ever been betrayed by another. Perhaps the strongest takes on the mercurial nature of love, though, come in such pieces as "Make Believe," with poignant observations indicative of a seasoned spirit with many insightful stories to share.
Juanita Harris is a truly gifted scribe who will surely contribute greatly to the world
of literature in the coming years, but for now RIP will serve as a stirring introduction to a
poet whose time has come. Look out for more from this impressive young talent.

How I helped
Support the campaign
3. | For Change! By: Juanita Harris
Never in my life, has any politician inspired me in the way that Barack Obama has. I have been moved by his constant strive for goodness and his passion to strengthen this country. In a time when our Nation is quickly sliding down hill, he has given me a reason to look up. A reason to believe that there is still a way to fix it and make it better.
I've always listened to the politics. I've always gone to vote on Election Day. But this time, during this Election, I wanted to do something more. At the suggestion of my boyfriend, I started volunteering. It was difficult for me because I am a mother of four, I work full time and I'm working on my second book. At the same time, I was supposed to be advertising my current book and let's not forget that my 7 year old is a Type 1 Diabetic. That in its self is a lot to deal with. So, it was difficult for me to make time to volunteer. I helped out the best ways I could and I just hope that some how my contributions have made a difference.
The following are ways that I contributed & supported Barack Obama:
*3-5-08 Obama Sweeps Philly #2Participated in the cleaning of Chew Park and voter registration drive.
*3-5-08 Voter Registration Drive Joined other volunteers to assist with registrations at the Graysferry Pathmark.
*3-26-08 Volunteer Training Attended a volunteer training session with Barack Obama and 1500 other volunteers from the Philadelphia area.
*6-26-08 House Party for the Campaign Hosted a house party to recruit new volunteers and discuss ways to help with the election.
*7-4-08 Voter Registration Booth Set up a voter registration booth on Independence Day to show support for Obama and register new voters.
*7-10-08 through 8-7-08 Phone Bank Worked in the Obama Volunteer office on Tuesday and/or Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm. Called constituents to invite them to events and recruit new volunteers.
VOTE OBAMA THIS NOVEMBER!!!!
